Enteral & woundcare Part B billing consulting in skilled nursing homes.

In the late 80s Gene started a billing and consulting company for nursing homes. His company, Long Term Care Reimbursement, Inc., offered Medicare Part-B claims processing and consulting for orthotics and prosthetics (enteral, urological, ostomy, trach, wound care) used in nursing home and reimbursed under Part B. Long Term Care Reimbursement, Inc. also specialized in Part-B back-billing services. Gene published websites providing information to Administrators and Directors of Nursing on Medicare Part B billing programs.

He wrote numerous Medicare Part A & B reimbursement articles and columns for leading industry magazines. Additionally, Gene wrote articles on Medicare billing compliance, consolidated billing, ancillary contracting and Prospective Payment System. He worked with CMS (then the U.S. Government’s Office of Medicare) on Consolidated Billing issues.

Gene has conducted seminars for state health care associations including national seminars on Medicare Part-B in long term care for leading industry magazines and Part-B medical product manufacturers.

After 10 years, he merged Long Term Care Reimbursement, Inc. in late 1999 and was bought out. In 2000, he started a new company, Monette LTC Services, offering Part-B enteral, urological, ostomy, trach and wound care billing for nursing homes. Monette LTC Services was the sister company of Monette Information Systems which provides clinical and financial software to more than 600 skilled nursing homes nationwide. He also served as VP Marketing for Monette Information Systems.

In 2000, Monette LTC Services purchased Long Term Care Reimbursement, Inc.

Many of the nursing home today use one of several tracking software programs for medical supplies, Part b items and services that Gene was involved in developing.
